Vina iz regije Sauternes spadaju među najpoznatija slatka vina na svijetu. Nastaju od plemenitom plijesni Botrytis cinerea zahvaćenog grožđa, ponajprije sorti Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc i Muscadelle, što rezultira visokom koncentracijom šećera i aroma. Karakteriziraju ih izražene note meda, suhog i kandiranog voća, marelice i citrusa, uz izraženu svježinu koja balansira slatkoću. Najbolji primjerci imaju izniman potencijal dozrijevanja, često desetljećima.
Château Rieussec jedno je od vodećih imanja apelacije Sauternes i nosi status Premier Cru Classé prema klasifikaciji iz 1855. godine. Vino se proizvodi pretežno od sorte Sémillon, uz manji udio Sauvignon Blanca i Muscadelle, iz grožđa zahvaćenog plemenitom plijesni Botrytis cinerea. Odlikuju ga bogata tekstura, izražena slatkoća uravnotežena svježinom te arome meda, marelice, suhog voća i začina. Riječ je o velikom Sauternesu s dugim potencijalom odležavanja.

Château Rieussec is located in the prestigious Sauternes appellation, in the south of the Bordeaux region. This château is steeped in history and belonged to the Carmelite monks of Langon in the 18th century. It was then sold as “National Property” following the French Revolution. Classified as an 1855 Sauternes Premier Grand Cru, Château Rieussec was acquired by the Rothschild family in 1984.

Inspirational depth with botrytis spice, toffee, dried-apricot and sponge-cake character. Full-bodied, very sweet and lively with a long, endless finish. Lively acidity balances the wine. Tight and linear. Compact column of fruit and botrytis. Give it age. Better after 2026.
